Davidson is seeking a Program Control Analyst to support Department of Defense (DoD) programs in Huntsville, AL. (Contingent Upon Funding). The Program Control Analyst will provide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and program control support across multiple government contracts of varying size, complexity, contract type, and risk.
This position will partner closely with Program Managers, Finance/FP&A, Contracts, Accounting, and other program stakeholders to monitor program financial performance, maintain accurate forecasts, identify cost and funding risks, and support internal and customer reporting requirements. The Program Control Analyst will report to the Program Control Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support financial management and program controls for DoD/government contracts, including FFP, Cost Plus, and T&M contract types.
- Plan, authorize, monitor, and track program expenditures, funding, budgets, and financial performance against contractual requirements.
- Establish and maintain projects, charge structures, budgets, and funding authorizations within Deltek Costpoint.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze program budgets, forecasts, and Estimates at Completion (EACs) in coordination with Program Managers.
- Perform monthly program financial analysis, including budget-to-actual, cost, funding, revenue, and variance analysis.
- Monitor contract funding, expenditures, commitments, burn rates, and potential funding or cost risks; proactively communicate issues to program leadership.
- Prepare monthly cost status reports, financial reviews, and contractually required financial deliverables for internal management and government customers.
- Support program reviews by providing financial data, variance explanations, forecasts, and recommendations to Program Managers and leadership.
- Review and validate customer invoices to ensure accuracy, appropriate contract charging, and alignment with contract funding and billing requirements.
- Assist with financial compliance and reporting requirements associated with FAR, DFARS, and applicable government contracting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with Contracts, Accounting, Finance, and Program Management to ensure accurate program financial data and proper cost allocation.
- Support contract modifications, funding actions, baseline changes, and other program financial activities throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Identify financial and program control process improvements and support implementation of standardized, compliant processes.
- Perform other program control and financial analysis duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 - 10 years of Program Control, Project Control, Financial Analysis, or related experience supporting government/DoD contracts.
- Working knowledge of government contracting concepts and multiple contract types, including FFP, Cost Plus, and T&M.
- Experience developing and maintaining budgets, forecasts, EACs, variance analyses, and program financial reports.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Cognos Business Intelligence (BI).
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and large-data analysis.
- Ability to analyze program financial performance and clearly communicate cost, schedule, funding, and forecast impacts to Program Managers and leadership.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting DoD, Army, Missile Defense, Aviation, or other federal government programs.
- Familiarity with FAR/DFARS, government cost accounting, contract funding, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience supporting EAC development, program reviews, contract modifications, funding analysis, and invoice validation.
- SQL and Other Coding Experience
- Experience working within a DCAA/DCMA-regulated defense contracting environment.
Clearance Requirment:
- Active or ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
