Description
- Environmental Scientist
Maul Foster & Alongi, Inc. (MFA) is seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist for our Bend office. As an Environmental Scientist, you will take on increasing responsibility for managing environmental projects, applying your technical expertise, and working directly with clients and regulatory agencies. You'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of environmental assessment and cleanup projects while developing deeper expertise. This is a great opportunity for an experienced environmental scientist who enjoys both the technical side of the work and the opportunity to help move projects forward.
- As an Environmental Scientist, you will...
bring your environmental science expertise to projects that range from field investigations and data analysis to site assessment and cleanup. You'll take ownership of projects, work directly with clients and regulators, and collaborate with a mix of scientists, engineers, and other technical professionals to solve problems and keep things moving.
Along the way, you'll build deeper expertise in the areas that interest you, mentor junior staff, and have opportunities to get involved in training, business development, and industry events. It's a chance to grow your technical and project management skills while helping shape the work MFA does across the Pacific Northwest.
- To thrive in this role, you must have...
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or a related physical science.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with demonstrated growth in technical responsibility.
- Experience with environmental assessment and cleanup projects, including environmental sampling, data interpretation, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing or contributing to projects, including budgeting, scheduling, invoicing, and tracking project performance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to clients, regulators, and diverse audiences.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, both in the field and office.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams and supporting junior staff.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
