Job Title – Lead Data Engineer - Python & ETL

The Purpose of This Role 

We are looking for a highly motivated Engineer with strong Data Engineering experience in developing enterprise applications and data solutions using Python, Oracle, ETL technologies, AWS Cloud, Snowflake, Angular and Microservices API frameworks in support of the FGS (Fidelity Global Product area within Corporate Services Core Technology. You will work with business stakeholders, Engineering Leader, and Engineering Team to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. You’ll be involved in all phases and layers of application development, including front-end, back-end services, data integrations, quality validations, and production stability. 

The Value You Deliver 

• Building robust full stack data solutions for FGS business stakeholders, aligned with architectural roadmaps while ensuring platform stability, scalability, and resiliency 

• Designing and implementing enterprise data integration solutions leveraging Oracle, ETL processes, AWS, and Snowflake data warehousing capabilities 

• Implementing engineering standards and best practices and contributing to engineering excellence across the organization 

• Developing modern user interfaces using Angular framework and scalable backend services using Python and Microservices API frameworks 

• Participating in Agile ceremonies and collaborating with business stakeholders, Engineering Leader, and Engineering Team to gain a deeper understanding of business needs and deliver value for customers 

• Ensuring application reliability through production monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous process improvements 

• Ownership towards the final quality on production release 

 

The Skills that are Key to this role 

• Python, Oracle, ETL Processes, SQL with strong understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts 

• Microservices API Frameworks, Angular, AWS Cloud Services, Containerization Technologies, Docker, GitHub, and Snowflake 

 

Expertise we are looking for 

• 6+ years of experience in multiple IT areas including Data Engineering, Application Development, Oracle, ETL technologies, AWS Cloud, and API development 

• Strong experience in developing enterprise applications using database technologies and frameworks 

• Experience building and supporting Microservices-based architectures and REST API frameworks 

• Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud services with hands-on experience in containerization technologies, Docker images, and cloud-native application deployment 

• Experience working with GitHub-based development workflows, source control, and CI/CD practices 

• Knowledge of Snowflake and Data Warehousing concepts supporting enterprise-scale data solutions 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Software) required 

• Capacity to quickly understand and incorporate new technologies 

• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
