The Technical Specialist I - Immunohistochemistry / Pathology Imaging - Canada for Leica Biosystems is responsible for helping achieve Leica sales, profitability, and market share expansion goals for the Immunohistochemistry / Pathology Imaging business.
This position is part of the field applications team and will be located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and will be a remote/field position covering a territory of southern and eastern Ontario, with potential to provide secondary coverage outside of this designated area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets for Histology Instrumentation and Consumables in partnership with Account Managers. Coordinate equipment installations including site readiness, reagent order management, and post-installation follow-up.Partner with management to coordinate pre- and post-sales technical and application support, customer escalations, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with internal teams to lead regional technical investigations as needed.
- Conduct virtual and onsite demonstrations, presentations, customer training, and product evaluations. Manage sample requests, new product introductions, and instrument optimization. Resolve complex technical application issues, complete technical RFP responses, and support cross-portfolio selling, lead generation, prospecting, and strategic account planning.
- Drive consumables attachment across new installations, existing customers, and competitive accounts. Maintain market analysis and TAM tracking to grow market share while providing marketing support, competitive intelligence, customer assessments, and business reviews.
- Utilize DOMO and SFDC analytics to monitor sales trends and communicate insights. Maintain SFDC records, coordinate product supply activities, support forecasting and funnel reviews, and build relationships with key opinion leaders including pathologists, lab managers, technologists, and researchers.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- BA/BS Degree preferred or equivalent work experience. Minimum 1-3 years relevant industry (or equivalent) experience
- Demonstrates and applies expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline; with an understanding of related disciplines. Applies understanding of key business drivers to prioritize and accomplish own work
- Solves problems in straightforward situations independently; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents. Understanding of Pathology Lab marketplace or a related discipline. Proven time management skills
- Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM software. Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Demonstrate leadership, mentorship, exemplary work ethic and model behavior consistent with Danaher Core Values amongst peers, across the BUs, and cross functional teams.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 75%
- Must Possess a valid Driver’s license.
- Ability to travel overnight for territory coverage (if applicable) and/or for company meetings
Language: Fluent in English, French a plus.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- 1-3 years’ Histology laboratory experience in clinical, research, or industrial setting with practical focus preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in the optimization, operation, functionality, and support of Histology instrumentation and related products preferred
