Maintenance Technician Part Time

Primary function of the Maintenance Technician is to complete projects and repairs in regard to routine, preventative and emergency maintenance in the hotel as directed by the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that guests receive prompt, professional treatment and courteous service in response to their maintenance needs. 
• Complete all tasks, work orders and special projects as assigned by Chief Engineer.
• Perform daily inspections to ensure property grounds and work areas are maintained to standard.
• Be aware that all life safety equipment and conditions are up to code, report any concern to the Chief Engineer or General Manager.
• Complete all preventative maintenance projects timely as assigned.
• As assigned, maintain, monitor, and test the hotel’s emergency and security systems, features and procedures.
• Be aware that all tools and equipment are in working condition, and up to code; report any concerns to the Chief Engineer or General Manager. 
• Maintain the security of all equipment and tools.
• Maintaining the grounds, the pool, fitness area and other duties as assigned.
• Proficient in basic Building Services; including, but not limited to wall repairs, tile work, grouting, caulking, plaster, and painting.
• Perform property walks to ensure cleanliness, functionality and security.
• Setup maintain and refresh function rooms as required.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum two years of relevant maintenance, engineering, or facilities experience
• Ability to perform basic general building maintenance, including routine mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and basic testing equipment
• English verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills, including email and work-order/CMMS systems
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in various positions as required
• Ability to climb ladders and safely work at heights
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
• Flexible availability, including varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight work

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hotel or hospitality maintenance experience
• Experience troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Experience with commercial building systems and equipment
• Experience using a CMMS or computerized work-order system
• Experience reading equipment manuals, technical documentation, and basic schematics
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs
• Experience with BMS/BAS or other building automation systems
• EPA Section 608 certification
• Certified Pool Operator
• OSHA or other relevant safety training or certifications
• Experience responding to maintenance emergencies and critical operational needs
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and hotel staff
• Ability to effectively prioritize multiple work requests and changing operational needs

Schedule & Availability Requirements:

This position requires a high degree of schedule flexibility to support the operational needs of the hotel. While schedules may vary based on the needs of the property, the successful candidate should be comfortable working a variety of shifts, including day, mid, evening, and occasional overnight shifts, as well as weekends and holidays.

From time to time, hotel operations may require additional flexibility due to emergencies, equipment issues, severe or inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. Candidates should be prepared to adjust their schedule or report to the property when needed to help support the hotel and our guests.
