The opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the India Direct Tax Operations team within the Tax Shared Services (CSS/GCC) organization. The role is responsible for managing tax operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of compliance support activities, partnering with multiple stakeholders, and driving process excellence through automation and digital transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate should possess strong operational knowledge of direct tax processes, proven leadership capabilities, stakeholder management skills, and experience working in Shared Services, Global Capability Center (GCC), or corporate finance environments.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Lead and manage the India Direct Tax Operations team, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of operational activities.
- Coordinate collection, validation, reconciliation, and reporting of data required for Corporate Income Tax compliance support, Advance Tax support TDS compliance processes, Tax audit support Transfer Pricing documentation support ,Statutory audit requirements
- Partner with Tax CoE, Finance, Payroll, Accounting, business teams, and external advisors to ensure timely and accurate information sharing.
- Review reconciliations, schedules, trackers, and supporting documentation to maintain compliance readiness.
- Monitor process performance, identify operational risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead process standardization, automation, and operational excellence initiatives across tax processes.

Background:
- CA, MBA (Finance), CMA, M.Com, or equivalent professional qualification.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience for CA / CMA.
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience for candidates with MBA (Finance) or other equivalent professional qualifications.
- Experience in Direct Tax Operations, Tax Compliance Support, Shared Services, GCC, GBS, SSC, or Finance Operations environments.
- Should have experience using S/4HANA.
- Prior experience in a CSS/GCC/Shared Services operating model is highly preferred.
- India Indirect Tax Knowledge is an added advantage.
- Should have people Management/Team handling experience.
- Exposure to supporting listed entities will be an added advantage.
- Combination of Big Four and industry/shared services experience is desirable.
- Demonstrates effective use of AI and digital tools to enhance problem-solving, decision-making, and productivity, while applying sound judgment, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and maintaining accountability for outcomes.
