Description
West County Transportation Agency is a Joint Powers Agreement formed of and by seventeen school districts in western Sonoma County. Our mission is to provide safe, coordinated, cost-effective and child-centered school transportation service. In addition to our member school districts, we also provide field trip service to many districts in the county and vehicle maintenance service for school districts and other public agencies.
Job Details:
This is a full-time position dedicated to the Vehicle Maintenance and Facilities Department of the Agency.This position is under the direction of the Manager of Vehicle and Facilities and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of all Service Department personnel.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and assisting staff in fueling vehicles; checking oil, belts, and other fluid levels on school buses and Agency vehicles;
- Ensuring buses are washed and cleaned in accordance with Agency standards;
- Overseeing custodial and grounds maintenance activities;
- Providing guidance, training, and work direction to assigned personnel;
- Ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently;
- Performing required daily, weekly, and monthly safety inspections;
- Driving a school bus when requested;
- And performing other related duties as required.
Starting salary will be based on experience between $26.26 up to $39.86, plus excellent health, dental, and vision coverage, paid and accumulating sick leave, paid vacation time, and membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
