THE OPPORTUNITY
Join the high performing team at Achilles Dairy as a Dairy Farm Assistant, you’ll assist with a range of farm tasks, from milking, calving, and feeding stock, to effluent management, spraying, and fencing.
Alongside a supportive Farm Manager, You’ll play an important part in the day-to-day operations and work closely with your team to help meet production and animal welfare goals.
You’ll receive full training and support, and we’ll encourage you to take the initiative, develop your skills, and support newer team members along the way. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a great work ethic and a passion for farming.

THE FARM
Achilles Dairy Unit is part of the Pāmu Pastoral Complex, just 15 minutes from Taupō. Set on an 840 effective ha block, the farm milks 2,150 cows through a 60-bail rotary shed.
You’ll also get to work with Halter technology on farm, helping make day-to-day stock management more efficient. With Taupō close by, you can enjoy the best of the central North Island lifestyle, from the lake and mountain biking trails to cafés, shops, schools, and plenty of outdoor recreation.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll bring a willingness to learn, get stuck in, and contribute to the team’s success. Ideally, you’ll also have:
Experience in a similar dairy farming role (or a strong interest in developing one)
Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A proactive attitude with initiative and commitment to animal welfare and health & safety
The ability to coach and support junior or new staff where required
A current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence
