Salary: $26.00 - $38.00 per hour

Work Environment: 

In-Office (Hybrid Possible) Position: Work is primarily performed in our office at 3201 South Tamarac Dr., Denver 80231. Position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule, with a combination of remote and in-office work. Work hours are generally during regular business hours, with occasional flexibility required to support agency needs.

This position counsels and advises individuals, groups, families, and/or couples to promote optimum mental and emotional health. Provides mental health treatment and case management services to benefit the client and the community.

The Psychotherapist provides outpatient mental health counseling to individuals, groups, families, and/or couples. Essential functions include:

• Provides case management services to clients as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
• Prepares and maintains all required treatment records and reports according to JFS requirements.
• Fills out and maintains client-related paperwork, including federal- and state-mandated forms, client diagnostic records, and progress notes within the timeframe set by JFS requirements.
• Guides clients in the development of skills or strategies for dealing with their problems.
• Modifies treatment activities or approaches as needed to comply with changes in clients' status.
• Collaborates with mental health professionals and other staff members, such as nurse practitioners or psychiatrists, to perform clinical assessments or develop treatment plans.
• Refers patients, clients, or family members to wrap-around JFS programs, community resources, or specialists as necessary.
• Acts as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
• Learns about new developments in counseling by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, or establishing and maintaining contact with other social service agencies.
• Maintains a productivity standard as set by the agency.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on agency committees.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

• A master's or doctoral degree in counseling or a related field from a CACREP-accredited program.

Experience:

• Preferred three to five years of experience in individual, group, family, and/or couples' therapy.

Other:

• Familiarity with the DSM-5 and diagnostic techniques.
• Knowledge of Medicaid chart compliance requirements preferred.
• Proficiency with Word and experience using electronic health records.
• Ability to use email, client information database systems, and patient electronic medical record (EMR) software.

Certification/Licensing: 

• License preferred (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD).
• All mental health clinicians must register with CAQH (Council for Affordable Quality Health) within seven days of date of hire. All unlicensed clinicians must register with the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) prior to the start date and must remain in active status throughout JFS employment.
• This position requires a current CPR certification.

• Frequently sitting and typing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use standard office equipment.
• Physical effort/lifting: The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 10 pounds.
