Background information on Section and Branch

The Business Innovation and Data Section leads the reform of the Prescription Medicine Authorisation Branchs (PMAB) operations. We do this by:

Utilising data to inform problem analysis and solution identification, support business operations and decision-making through reporting and monitor progress and measure outcomes.

Identification of digital and other innovative, contemporary solutions and business improvements, delivered in partnership with business areas and technical specialists.

Delivering change, improved organisational capability and outcomes through project management and controls, working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

 

PMAB is responsible for processing and evaluating applications for new prescription medicines, new uses of prescription medicines and other variations to prescription medicines currently registered on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG).

 

Through evaluating the premarket clinical aspects of prescription medicines, and with advice from other branches across the Health Products Regulation Group (TGA), PMAB helps facilitate the supply of prescription medicines that are safe for their intended use, efficacious and available in a timely manner

Duties of position

Specific duties include:

  • Support the development of reporting in Power BI.
  • Support ongoing improvements to the capture of operational data.
  • Training and support for internal stakeholders.

Mandatory requirements

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Understanding of data modelling in Power BI.
  • High level written and oral communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with data.
