Accounts Payable Representative
Huntsman is seeking an Accounts Payable Representative supporting the P2P Accounts Payable Division located in San Jose, Costa Rica. This position will report to the Accounts Payable Manager.
Job Scope
The Accounts Payable Representative is responsible for coordinating and preparing documentation, valuations, reconciliations, and other activities that support Huntsman’s Accounts Payable operations. This role ensures accurate processing, reconciliation, and resolution of Accounts Payable transactions while maintaining compliance with company policies and internal controls.
The position works closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve inquiries, support issue resolution, improve processes, and contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of Accounts Payable operations.
In summary, as the Accounts Payable Representative, you will:
- Review and analyze Accounts Payable inquiries and escalations from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support issue resolution for potential duplicate payments or transactions processed incorrectly within Accounts Payable accounts.
- Perform Accounts Payable account reconciliations.
- Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Assist with month-end closing activities.
- Maintain files and documentation accurately and thoroughly in accordance with company policies and accepted accounting practices.
- Comply with internal control procedures to ensure accurate financial records, including adherence to Corporate Delegation of Authority policies.
- Support additional projects and initiatives related to Accounts Payable operations.
- Identify and propose continuous system and process improvements to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to support Accounts Payable activities and issue resolution.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
All candidates are expected to work at our office in AFZ, Heredia on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please note that there may be occasions where additional office days are required, due specific business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required; or 4+ years of relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, Finance, Accounting, or a related functional area.
- Demonstrated fluency in both written and verbal English communication.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience utilizing financial systems and supporting end-to-end business processes.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Additional language proficiency beyond English.
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives within Finance or Shared Services organizations.
