Description

Department Description and Responsibilities

As a Works Manager, you are responsible for the operational delivery of site activities. You can rely on a team of site superintendents and project engineers, and you report directly to the Project Manager. While the superintendents handle the day-to-day execution, you keep the overall project picture in view.

For this position, we are looking for an experienced Works Manager with a solid background in both engineering and installation, specifically within large offshore subsea cable installation projects.

Project Tasks

In this role, you will support the Le Tréport cables project with barge operations for the Rock Bag scope. You combine offshore installation management with works management for the Rock Bag installation spread. You act as the single point of accountability for HSE, POB and emergency response, while steering the daily Rock Bag installation activities in line with the execution plan.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate the planning of the works.
  • Focus on the execution and optimization of subsea cable installation activities.
  • Address operational needs and stakeholder expectations, both internal and external.
  • Contribute to the efficient realization of project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with QHSE-S standards and help keep the project on schedule and within budget.
  • Work closely with Superintendents and Project Engineers on site.
  • Coordinate and guide the operational workforce.

📝 Your profile

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in complex offshore engineering projects.
  • You bring strong project management and planning skills.
  • You have extensive experience working in high-safety environments.
  • You communicate clearly and are able to assess the planned works critically.
  • You work well in a team, support colleagues effectively and provide leadership in the field.
  • You are able to work autonomously and approach challenges in a solution-oriented way.
  • You have a hands-on mindset.
  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably with a specialization in construction, or equivalent experience.
  • You have the following certifications: Offshore Medical Certificate, Chester Step and STCW Basic Safety Training.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Dutch is preferred and considered a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

Location

Le Tréport, France (inside 12 nautical miles).

The assignment is vessel-based, with accommodation on a walk-to-work vessel.
