Job Description:
We are looking for a Principal Process Engineer who enjoys working within a team environment. In this role, you will support the wafer fab tools and processes in one or more functional areas (Photo, Etch, Deposition, Diffusion, etc.) in a fab that makes PIN, Zener and Schottky Diodes on Silicon and Gallium Arsenide wafers with emphasis on Commercial & Military Communication/RADAR & Instrumentation market.

The Principal Process Engineer I is responsible for developing, monitoring, and testing wafer fab semiconductor products. Specific responsibilities can include:
Act as a subject matter expert in the areas of semiconductor wafer processing, providing cross-functional support
Detailed understanding of any one of the process modules mentioned above.
Creating and updating process specifications
Study and improve equipment performance for improved reliability and repeatability
Study and improve process performance for improved control and repeatability
Leading Teams to improve yields, reduce cycle time or reduce cost
Use Statistical Process Control for process monitoring of critical parameters
Process qualification of new equipment
Analyze and present data to technical audience
Other design, development, and support tasks as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related engineering discipline
10+ years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing
Ability to think out-of-the-box and create unique solutions to problems
Knowledge and experience with Silicon Wafer Fabrication Process
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DoE)
Familiar with Six Sigma principles and methods
Proficiency in problem solving using 8D reports or other methodologies
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required for data analysis
Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in data analysis with tools like Microsoft Excel, JMP, etc.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Effective verbal and written communication skills (English)
Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:
Legacy wafer fab working with technologies on 3” to 6” wafers is a plus
Experience in photo or etch is a plus
Skills in using AI improve to do research, analyze data and present data a plus

The annual base salary range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $75,000 - $232,000.**Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills and experience.
