Commercial Grounds - Logan, UT

This at-will position maintains lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, and property facilities. Performs basic grounds keeping and landscape maintenance duties. Performs related duties as assigned. Specific duties may vary depending upon assignment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following list of functions is descriptive of the work to be performed but it should not be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, functions, or tasks that the job may require.

• Provides care for grounds including mowing lawns, watering flowers and shrubbery, trimming trees and bushes, etc., as required.
• Rakes gravel, leaves, and grass trimmings off sidewalks, paths, and other areas.
• Maintains grounds keeping equipment.
• Picks up debris, litter, and trash including enclosed dumpster areas. Empties trash cans. Removes graffiti. May clean restrooms.
• May pick up, move, distribute, deliver, set up, and disassemble a variety of equipment, parts, supplies, and furniture.
• May perform minor repair work involving basic carpentry, painting, and cementing.
• Maintains logs and records.
• Checks and maintains property lighting.
• Operates grounds keeping and maintenance equipment, such as lawnmower, trimmer, and pressure washers.
• Maintains the chemical factor of pool water, which includes pH, total alkalinity, calcium, hardness, salt levels, and total dissolved solids.
• Maintains physical factor of pool water, which includes filtration, circulation, water temperature, and vacuuming of swimming pool.
• Maintains Biological factor of pool water, which includes disinfection, shock treatment, and algae control.
• Cleans and maintains in a sanitary condition the pool deck, bulkhead, and spa.
• Performs routine maintenance on chlorination system. Maintains all record pertaining to testing for water quality.
• Maintains and ensures a supply and inventory of chemicals for water balancing and testing is in stock.
• Cleans and maintains in a sanitary condition restrooms and washrooms, including all fixtures.
• Replaces burned out light bulbs and fluorescent light bulbs.
• Follows all applicable safety rules and regulations.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
• Contributes to team effort.
• If in Colorado or Utah, assists with snow removal.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS;

• Assists with other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications: 

• One year of work experience performing gardening or grounds keeping work.
• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pool Operator 1 (one) certificate or an acceptable equivalent.
• Ability to operate hand tools and equipment used in grounds keeping such as lawnmower, weed eater, shears, trimmer, etc.
• Ability to follow detailed oral/written instructions.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Ability to operate various hand and power tools.
• Deal effectively with co-workers and the public.
• Walk, stand, and kneel for prolonged periods, climb a ladder.
