Management Level:
Class 1This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only. Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.
Job Description:
This position is responsible for operating trucks and moving trailers in and out of loading areas while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-trip safety inspections of yard trucks and document results on required inspection forms.
Proficiency in reading and writing; ability to complete on-the-job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels.
Operate yard trucks to move trailers safely and efficiently between yard locations and dock doors.
Coordinate with supervisors and receiving/shipping team members, monitor radio communications, and maintain timely, effective communication with leadership to ensure efficient trailer movement.
Promptly address operational needs and report issues as they arise throughout the shift.
Accurately complete required data entry, paperwork and documentation related to yard operations.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper operation of equipment.
Maintain eligibility requirements, including willingness to complete a non-DOT disclosure and release form for MVR review.
Support overall yard and plant operations as needed, including performing additional duties as assigned.
Must be able to add fuel to all trailers and yard tractors.
Ensure temperature settings on all loads are set accurately.
Conduct temperature checks on all inbound and outbound trailers on the lot.
Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Must be willing and able to lift up to 40 lbs
The Team Member will stand, walk, bend, squat, stretch, climb, push, pull and reach as required in all areas
The Team Member will work outside in all weather conditions
The Team Member will work on slippery walking surfaces
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must not have any DUI/DWI convictions within the last 12 months
Must be able to operate a yard tractor and be able to safely pull and back in trailers to and from docks.
Internal Requirements At The Time Of Application:
Team Members must be in current position for 90 days
Team Members must have no suspensions or more than 3 written warnings within the past year
Team Members with four (4) or more attendance points at the time of application will be disqualified from consideration
Self-disqualification: A Team Member who withdraws their application or declines a position one (1) time will be restricted applying to any additional positions for six (6) months
