Artheon is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Estimator to join our Program and Construction Management (PMCM) team in New York City. Artheon is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Estimator to join our Program and Construction Management (PMCM) team in New York City. This role is ideal for professionals with 5+ years of experience in civil construction, who are ready to take on greater responsibility and contribute to high-impact infrastructure projects throughout the NY/NJ area.
You’ll play a key role in supporting and leading the development of detailed and conceptual construction estimates for transformational public sector projects. This position offers excellent opportunities for career growth, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and involvement in complex urban infrastructure initiatives that shape the future of our region.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and conceptual estimates based on design documents, specifications, and field conditions.
- Lead scope take-offs and apply construction methods and sequencing to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Analyze contractor proposals, bid packages, and change orders to support negotiations and validate costs.
- Provide support in the development of task order pricing and procurement documents.
- Conduct cost research and trend analysis on labor, materials, and equipment for benchmarking.
- Evaluate and compare independent cost estimates to contractor bids, identifying and explaining key variances.
- Contribute to claims analysis and pricing for change management processes.
- Interface with project managers, engineers, and clients to support project planning and execution.
- Maintain historical cost data and support continuous improvement of estimating tools and practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5 + years of experience in estimating within the civil construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong knowledge of local construction labor and material markets in NY/NJ.
- Proficient in interpreting and analyzing construction drawings, specs, and contract documents.
- Familiarity with construction means, methods, and project sequencing.
- Advanced skills in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, RSMeans, Timberline, or equivalent).
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
- Experience working on public sector infrastructure projects preferred.
