DESCRIPTION:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Buyer II and make a meaningful impact on global science and healthcare. You'll contribute to ensuring the seamless supply of materials that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. Working in a procurement environment, you'll manage supplier relationships, drive cost optimization, and ensure timely delivery of critical materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels. You'll work with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to support operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. You'll able to source for alternative option for EOL item or item affecting supply continuity.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree with no prior experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of procurement/buying experience in a manufacturing environment
• Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering or related field
• APICS, CPIM, CSCP or CIPS certification preferred

Experience with EE and EM component/ PCBA preferred
• Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Experience with MRP, inventory management and supplier relationship management
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills with ability to achieve cost savings
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a professional environment
• Knowledge of FDA/ISO regulations and quality systems preferred

• Ability to analyze data and develop actionable insights
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
• Ability to travel occasionally to supplier sites as needed
• Multi-lingual skills valued but not required
