Description of Work

This Community Employment Program Specialist, Adjustment Services Instructor position is located at the WorkSource West Facility in Morganton, NC.

This position provides curriculum-based training to persons with disabilities, in all areas of the Vocational Skills Training Program at WorkSource West to help clients obtain the skills need to prepare for and secure competitive employment.

This position may assist with transporting clients and materials/supplies using agency vehicles.

Job responsibilities include the following:

Assessing and teaching training programs to individuals with disabilities using established curriculums.

Teaching appropriate work behaviors, including productivity and safety awareness, in a real work situation using hands on skills training.

Managing workstation set-up, workflow, and quality assurance processes.

Providing orientation and supervision to clients participating in the training program.

Documenting provision of services provided in accordance with the client's rehabilitation plan and agency policy.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $35,596 -$62,294

Recruitment Range: $35,596 -$52,000

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred.

  • Valid North Carolina driver's license required to drive state vehicles

*Position funded Position is funded in part through federal funds.

*Position is eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours

Veterans’ and National Guard Preference

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a human services or business field such as human resources, marketing, business administration, business management, healthcare management, or public administration from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate’s degree in a human services or business field (identified above) from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related work experience; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) and four years of directly related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
