Overview
Performs commercial credit analysis and recommends appropriate credit structure on the most complex credit relationships in conformance with established policies, procedures, and objectives. Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and co-workers.
Responsibilities
- The Senior Credit Analyst II works with department management for training. The Senior Credit Analyst II will expand their knowledge base on spreading financial statements and preparing cash flow analyses for the most complex businesses and transactions. Training will also expand their knowledge base on analyzing financial statements and providing interpretive analysis for use in loan decision making. Senior Credit Analyst IIs are expected to opine on appropriate loan structure and provide a robust risk assessment in all underwriting. Independently, the Senior Credit Analyst II will be assigned underwriting for the most complex renewals, modifications, new money requests, and mortgage reviews. The Senior Credit Analyst II will also be assigned investment reviews.
- The Senior Credit Analyst II leads as well as supports special department projects, including annual stress testing. The Senior Credit Analyst II takes on additional responsibilities including mentoring the Credit Assistant and summer intern(s). While underwriting is a strong focus for the Senior Credit Analyst II, they are also expected to appropriately manage their additional responsibilities which may be seasonal or year-round.
- The Senior Credit Analyst II supports other credit colleagues, lending department staff, and other bank departments on a routine basis, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork skills throughout.
- The Senior Credit Analyst II must demonstrate strong time management skills in order to meet competing deadlines and expectations.
- The Senior Credit Analyst II performs all duties in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- The Senior Credit Analyst II performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers and co-workers.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree plus specialized course work and training is required
- An advanced business degree
Work Experience
- 7+ years of credit-related experience is required
Additional Requirements
- Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis including the ability to analyze repayment sources, evaluate risk, identify risk mitigation, and provide deep insight into the creditworthiness of a commercial borrower.
- Working knowledge of accounting and a solid understanding of commercial loan documentation.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software, including the Bank’s Commercial Loan Origination System.
