Description
Review a variety of construction plans, agreements, proposals and specifications for compliance with established codes, regulations and ordinances; inspect project sites for future construction work; and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in construction technology; and
Five (5) years of experience in any combination of the following areas:
Environmental:
Office and field environment; travel from site to site.
Physical:
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essentialfunctions may include, but are not limited to the functions listed below. Mustbe able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without areasonable accommodation.
- Perform plan checking activities; examine construction plans, proposals, agreements and specifications for compliance with established codes, regulations and ordinances; approve plans as needed.
- Perform on-site inspections for compliance with approved plans, specifications and standards; provide information to contractors and architects in the interpretation of applicable codes, ordinances and regulations.
- Coordinate plan checking activities with other departments; transmit plans, comments and specifications to appropriate departments, divisions or outside consultants.
- Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public regarding construction projects; provide information within the assigned area.
- Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends in the field of plans examination and code compliance.
- Establish and maintain a system of log sheets and files to track current status of projects; file approved plans, agreements and specifications.
- Prepare analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
