About the Role:
The Food Service Support role provides friendly, hands-on operational support across our campus dining and café environments. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys serving others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to support our school and church community through warm hospitality, light food prep, and front-of-house service.
Cashier & Guest Care
- Greet students, staff, and guests warmly, offering friendly and patient service that reflects the love of Christ.
- Operate register and point-of-sale (POS) systems (Square/Mosaic) accurately for food and café purchases (training provided).
- Help prepare and serve café items, beverages, snacks, and daily menu offerings when needed.
Food Prep & Kitchen Support
- Assist with basic food prep tasks, such as washing, slicing, portioning, and assembling light meals or snack items.
- Keep serving lines, galley coolers, café display cases, and snack racks stocked and presentable.
Station Care & Teamwork
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized register, café, and prep area throughout your shift.
- Reconcile register funds at shift end and report any discrepancies.
- Work cooperatively with the kitchen team, jumping in to help wherever needed to support daily meal service.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Prior cashier, café, customer service, or food service experience is a plus, but a willing heart and positive attitude are most important!
Core Competencies & Skills
- Friendly, welcoming personality with a heart for serving students and staff.
- Basic math skills for simple cash handling and register operation.
- Willingness to follow basic food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Ability to multitask and stay positive in a fast-paced setting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and move around during shift hours.
- Ability to light-lift, bend, and restock food service items (up to 25–30 lbs).

- Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry.
- Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks.
- Must be an active member of Indian Rocks as defined by regular attendance in worship services, regular attendance/involvement in an Indian Rocks Connection Group or Small Group, commitment to systematic stewardship, and faithful in tithing.
