Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN)

Summary of Position
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse provides safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
The RN collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, educate patients and families, advocate for patient needs, and promote positive outcomes. Nurses are expected to maintain clinical knowledge and skills, follow regulatory standards, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and respect.
Schedule Requirement: This position requires a minimum commitment of 24 hours worked every six weeks to maintain clinical competency and support unit needs.
Responsibilities
Provide safe, high-quality nursing care based on patient needs and established standards of practice.
Complete assessments, develop care plans, administer medications/treatments, and evaluate patient outcomes.
Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
Educate patients and families and support discharge planning.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team through rounds and care coordination.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, shared governance, and unit-based activities.
Maintain required competencies, education, and professional development.
Promote a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications
Required
Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
One or more years of RN experience (exceptions require CNO approval).
