Forklift Operator – McKenzie, TN
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our team at Allegion/Republic Doors and Frames in McKenzie, TN. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently transferring materials within the plant, performing preventive maintenance, maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting overall plant operations. All duties must be performed in accordance with safety standards and company policies.

**Starting Pay $17.86
Key Responsibilities:
- Transfer materials to and from carriers and various work centers within the plant using a forklift.
- Manually adjust materials on forks, including adding or removing materials as needed.
- Manually push and pull forks to adjust their position for optimal handling.
- Refuel equipment and perform routine safety inspections on forklifts and other machinery.
- Maneuver forklifts and materials in congested areas with close proximity to personnel, ensuring safety at all times.
- Assist co-workers with material handling tasks and other duties as directed by supervision.
- Weigh and dump scrap materials, ensuring proper paperwork and documentation are completed accurately.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with plant safety rules.
- Follow all plant work and safety rules to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification by successfully completing all required training, tests, and certifications.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle complex issues and problems independently.
- Strong ability to understand and follow directions accurately.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Team player attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is a plus.
