About the Role

As a Settlement and Funding Operations Officer, you'll play a critical role in helping customers achieve one of life's biggest milestones by ensuring home loan settlements and funding activities are completed accurately, efficiently and on time.

Working within our Lending Settlements and Servicing team, you'll partner closely with customers, brokers, solicitors, external settlement representatives and internal stakeholders to coordinate loan settlements from commencement through to completion.

This is a role for someone who thrives in the complexity that can come with settlements. While many settlements progress smoothly, there will be times when unexpected challenges arise, settlement deadlines shift, funding conditions have not been met, or difficult conversations need to be had with stakeholders to manage expectations and achieve the best possible outcome. You'll be comfortable taking ownership of these situations, communicating clearly and professionally, and working collaboratively to navigate issues through to resolution.

You'll bring a strong understanding of the end-to-end settlements process and enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where attention to detail, sound judgement and exceptional customer service are essential. Every interaction is an opportunity to build trust, demonstrate ownership and deliver positive outcomes for customers.

As part of BOQ Group, you'll also have opportunities to broaden your expertise across brands and functions, contribute ideas that improve processes and customer outcomes, and play an active role in driving continuous improvement across the lending operations value chain.

About You

You – our preferred candidate is an experienced settlements professional who understands the importance of getting things right when it comes to home loan settlements and funding. You have a strong background working within banking, lending or financial services and are confident managing matters from instruction through to settlement while balancing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

You know how to build credibility with a broad range of stakeholders, whether that's a customer eagerly awaiting settlement, a broker seeking an update, or a solicitor working through a complex issue. You're comfortable having challenging conversations when required, maintaining professionalism and empathy while working towards the best possible outcome for all parties involved.

Highly organised and detail-oriented, you take pride in delivering accurate work and proactively identifying risks before they become issues. You enjoy problem solving, taking ownership and working as part of a collaborative team that is focused on exceptional customer outcomes.

Most importantly, you're someone who embraces continuous improvement and is always looking for ways to make things better for customers, stakeholders and your team. If you are interested in joining a growing bank within a supportive team – we would love to hear from you!
