As a Legal Counsel at ICON, you will contribute to our legal and compliance function, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality outcomes across our clinical programs.
What You Will Do:
This is an exciting opportunity to act as a Legal Business Partner, delivering pragmatic and solution-oriented legal advice to support ICON's strategic objectives
while partnering with stakeholders across the business to drive informed decision-making and mitigate risk.
Key responsibilities include:
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and agreements, including master services agreements, vendor agreements, clinical trial agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
Providing legal guidance and support on contractual, regulatory, compliance, data privacy and operational issues affecting ICON's global clinical research activities.
Partnering with business development, operational, finance and compliance teams to facilitate commercial opportunities while appropriately managing legal risk.
Conducting legal research and analysis to support business initiatives, identify legal risks, and develop strategies to mitigate potential liabilities.
Assisting with the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address legal issues, resolve disputes, and support strategic initiatives and projects.
Your Profile:
You will bring relevant legal affairs and compliance experience, along with the following qualifications and skills.
Required qualifications and experience:
A bachelor's degree in law or equivalent qualification.
Qualified solicitor, attorney or equivalent legal professional in a relevant jurisdiction.
Prior experience in a legal role, with a focus on commercial contracts, ideally within Pharmaceutical, Biotech, CRO or Life Sciences.
Strong understanding of contract law, regulatory requirements, and industry standards relevant to the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Willingness to travel as required (approximately 10%).
