The Position:

Position General Summary:

The Technician, Application provides 2nd tier support and configuration for packaged and custom applications with the FLVS organization. Specifically, the Technician, Application implements and supports technology systems for FLVS stakeholders’ business applications. The Technician, Application is required to work in a team setting and meet weekly with their supervisor in the Information Technology (IT) department.

Essential Position Functions:

  • Provide set up and configuration of applications

  • Provide 2nd tier support for business applications within the enterprise

  • Develop recommendations for enhancing approaches for software support service

  • Effectively interact with other departments, groups, and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced

  • Investigate the performance of programs and take action to correct deficiencies

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articles (KBs)

  • Provide a minimum of weekly status report updates for current projects

  • Provide consultation for the evaluation of packaged applications

  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or technical institute degree/certificate, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • Any Microsoft, Apple, or ITIL Certification, preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in software and application delivery support

  • Troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365

  • Experience with the setup, configuration, and support of specific business application packages

  • ServiceNow or similar ticketing system

  • Basic command prompt knowledge for troubleshooting

  • Understanding of network basics

Knowledge, abilities and skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to work with/for multiple employees and meet deadlines

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply software support and troubleshooting methodologies

  • Knowledge of installing applications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong documentation and time management skills

  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Zoom
