We are seeking an experienced Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time temporary contract in Lapeer, MI. This is an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality post-operative care in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Position Details:
- Job Type: Temporary / Full-Time Contract.
- Location: Lapeer, MI.
- Shift: Days (12-hour shifts).
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 9:30 PM.
- Weekend Requirement: Call coverage only.
- On-Call: 4–6 twelve-hour call shifts per 28-day schedule (includes weekend call).
Responsibilities:
- Provide post-anesthesia nursing care for adult and pediatric surgical patients.
- Monitor patient recovery, airway stability, vital signs, pain, and sedation levels.
- Administer medications and treatments according to PACU protocols.
- Recognize and respond to post-operative complications and emergencies.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills.
