Overview

 

Expleo is seeking a Requirements Engineer, experienced using Siemens Polarion, to support a critical DAL D to DAL A software assurance uplift programme. The role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the requirements baseline, managing Polarion artefacts, developing and updating High-Level Requirements (HLRs), and creating the traceability foundations required for DAL A compliance.

Working closely with certification, design, verification and quality assurance teams, the successful candidate will ensure requirements are complete, reviewable, traceable and compliant with programme standards. The role is central to the assurance evidence chain and supports the transition from an existing DAL D baseline to a certification-ready DAL A solution. 

 

This role is based full-time on-site, working directly alongside customer engineering and assurance teams throughout programme execution. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update and maintain High-Level Requirements (HLRs) within Polarion.
  • Manage requirements baselines, attributes and configuration within the requirements management environment.
  • Establish and maintain traceability between HLRs, LLRs, implementation artefacts and verification evidence.
  • Define and manage requirements review workflows and approval processes.
  • Support requirements quality assessments and formal review activities.
  • Create and maintain compliance and traceability reporting metrics.
  • Work with software design teams to ensure accurate derivation of Low-Level Requirements.
  • Support verification teams in establishing requirement-to-test traceability.
  • Prepare review packs, checklist evidence and supporting documentation
  • Identify requirements gaps, inconsistencies, ambiguities and compliance issues.
  • Assist with certification evidence generation and audit preparation activities.
  • Support migration, clean-up and governance of Polarion data structures as required.
  • Work closely with the DO-178 Certification Lead to ensure requirements compliance objectives are achieved.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Requirements engineering or systems engineering training is desirable.
  • Polarion, DOORS or equivalent ALM/requirements management experience preferred.

Essential skills

  • Requirements engineering within regulated engineering environments.
  • Experience using Polarion, DOORS or equivalent requirements management tools.
  • Understanding of requirements lifecycle management and configuration control.
  • Strong traceability management experience.
  • Experience supporting formal review and approval processes.
  • Ability to write clear, structured and testable requirements.
  • Understanding of requirements quality standards and review techniques.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience maintaining evidence in support of regulated development programmes.

Desired skills

  • Experience using Polarion ALM.
  • Knowledge of DO-178C software lifecycle and requirements processes.
  • ARINC and/or CAN protocol familiarity.
  • Experience with SysML, Cameo or model-based engineering environments.
  • Aerospace, defence or safety-critical systems experience.
  • Knowledge of requirements verification and validation techniques.
  • Familiarity with compliance matrices and certification evidence generation.
  • Experience supporting formal audits or assurance reviews.

Experience

  • Experience developing and managing requirements within highly regulated projects.
  • Demonstrable experience establishing end-to-end traceability across engineering lifecycles.
  • Experience producing artefacts suitable for formal customer review and approval.
  • Experience working with structured requirements management databases and change control processes.
  • Experience supporting engineering assurance, compliance or certification activities.
  • Experience within aerospace, defence, rail, nuclear or other safety-critical sectors is desirable.
