Lactalis USA, is currently hiring a Freight Financial Administrator, based in Buffalo, NY.
As a Freight Financial Administrator, the role will carry out responsibilities such as but not limited to managing the LUSA transportation accessorial process as documented, reconciling variances in freight costs and freight invoice holds, and assisting with the management of freight payables. The role includes managing freight accessorial requests using electronic systems, reconciling variances in freight payables, and assisting with other related controllership functions as required. Additionally, the Freight Financial Administrator will collaborate with various departmental colleagues including, but not limited to, Logistics Controllership, Logistics Operations, and various outside 3rd parties to align duties with the company's goals and values.
From your STORY to ours
• Analyze supporting documentation provided in accessorial requests to ensure proper support
• Assist Logistics Controllership with functions of the team as needed
• Direct any escalations of persistent issues to the appropriate person
• Document freight payable details as required
• Evaluate various system information to verify Accessorial Requests
• Monitor e-mail communications and the Target Freight Management system for job related tasks
• Process cost changes in the TMS to ensure the new rate confirmation reflects the added accessorial charge
• Report on freight cost variances and accessorial changes as needed
• Research, Investigate, and Validate by reviewing accessorial requests to determine if accessorial was justified or was the a result of carrier/failure.
• Investigate sales teams and customer service requests for missing POD’s or other paperwork and determine if missing documents should require the initiation of a carrier/broker claim.
• Work with carriers/brokers to resolve discrepancies and other issues as needed

Requirements
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Education
• High school's diploma is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• A major in Supply Chain, Accounting, or Finance is preferred.
Experience
• 2+ years in a relevant or similar position with related experience is preferred.
Certifications and specific knowledge
• Knowledge of Freight Payables is required.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of truckload & LTL transportation is preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and experience with customer interactions via phone/email is required.
