Job Description: The IT Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as the organization's expert in business process analysis, optimization, and continuous improvement. This role partners with business leaders, technical teams, and stakeholders to evaluate current state operations, design future-state processes, and implement solutions that improve efficiency, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Senior Process SME provides strategic guidance, mentors cross-functional teams, and ensures business processes align with organizational objectives, industry best practices, and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical Subject Matter Expert for enterprise IT and cyber initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership for design, implementation, modernization, and sustainment of secure government information systems.
- Advise government leadership on emerging technologies, cybersecurity best practices, and technical risk mitigation strategies.
- Support enterprise planning and ensure alignment with mission requirements and cybersecurity objectives.
- Evaluate existing IT infrastructure and recommend improvements to increase performance, security, resiliency, and operational efficiency.
- Support implementation and maintenance of Zero Trust principles and cybersecurity modernization efforts.
- Assist with cybersecurity engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle.
- Participate in cybersecurity assessments, audits, inspections, and vulnerability remediation efforts.

- Strong understanding of organizational management practices.
- Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Excellent facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to interpret business strategy and translate it into operational improvements.
- Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Experience developing dashboards and performance metrics.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with tactical execution.
