Description
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay: $60/hour, plus mileage reimbursement and premium pay for holidays and overtime.

- 5 sick days (40 hours), per the NYS Paid Sick Leave Act.

- Full-time travel position.
- Meaningful work protecting resident health and safety through thorough surveys, investigations, and enforcement of federal and state regulations.
- NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing utilization review, claims adjudication, medical review, fraud investigation, surveillance, or monitoring; OR 3 years of clinical or administrative experience; OR a Bachelor's in Nursing and 2 years of clinical or administrative experience.
- At least 1 year of survey experience.
- SMQT certification preferred, but must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to on-site facilities.
- Flexibility with scheduling, as the state determines the work schedule.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evening shifts on a rotating basis, as needed.
- This is a travel position.
- Participate in surveys or complaint investigations, including allegations of abuse and neglect, and perform surveillance activities at nursing homes to determine compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Produce written documentation and draft Statements of Deficiencies (SOD) within required time frames, using Principles of Documentation.
- Assess compliance with the Plan of Correction within the required time frame.
- Complete data entry in federal and state reporting databases as required.
- Participate in state monitoring during Immediate Jeopardy situations.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Testify in administrative hearings as needed.
- Adhere to DOH work schedules, policies, and procedures.
- Travel to on-site locations according to the work schedule.
