Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all daily field operations for interior healthcare construction and renovation projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, facility personnel, and project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones and completion dates are achieved.
- Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety plans.
- Implement and maintain Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) protocols, Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), dust containment, negative air systems, and other infection prevention requirements.
- Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, contract documents, healthcare standards, and quality expectations.
- Conduct daily site inspections and proactively resolve field issues before they impact schedule or budget.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and project closeout documentation.
- Maintain detailed daily reports documenting labor, progress, weather, deliveries, inspections, and field conditions.
- Lead subcontractor meetings and communicate project updates with project managers and clients.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders to ensure accurate field execution.
- Manage project logistics in occupied healthcare environments while minimizing disruption to patient care and facility operations.
- Ensure projects comply with all applicable building codes, life safety requirements, and owner standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2–4 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial interior construction.
- At least 2 years managing healthcare construction or renovation projects in occupied medical facilities.
- Knowledge of healthcare construction practices, infection control procedures, and phased renovation projects.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and shop drawings.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors simultaneously.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency using construction management software, scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and mobile field reporting applications.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hospital renovations, imaging suites, operating rooms, emergency departments, laboratories, or outpatient medical facilities.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code requirements.
- Familiarity with ICRA and ILSM procedures.
- Experience with electronic project management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, or similar software.
