JOB SUMMARY:   The Employee Relations Specialist provides hands-on, end-to-end support to our Park Operations on employee relations issues, including performance management, corrective actions and terminations, complaints and conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and critical incident response.  This role promotes equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations and ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and state and federal employment laws. This role conducts objective investigations, advises HR leaders on appropriate employment actions, supports consistent application of company policies, and helps identify proactive solutions that strengthen employee engagement and reduce organizational risk.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary contact to Park Operations HR leaders for employee relations advice and guidance.
  • Provides front-line support in the prevention, identification, investigation, and resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Resolves employee complaints and facilitates conflict resolution between team members to promote a positive, safe and compliant work environment.
  • Conducts timely, thorough, and objective workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, misconduct, and other workplace concerns.
  • Utilizes the Navex Case Management system to manage workplace investigations.
  • Prepares investigative reports to support findings, recommends remedial measures if appropriate, and implements them in partnership with HR and management.
  • Partners with Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve complex employee relations issues and reduce organizational risk.
  • Works with HR and department leaders to prepare appropriate performance documentation such as coaching/ counseling, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Ensures consistent application of company policies, practice and procedures, work rules, corrective action history, relevant laws, and best practices.
  • Other job-related responsibilities and projects as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 4 years of employee relations experience.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting workplace investigations.
  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation and documentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and operate with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and deal with confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s Navex Case Management system.

 

Pay Rate: $32.00 per hour.
