Description

The Behavioral Health division of Lincoln County Health and Human Services is looking for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to help in providing mental health care to our community. This person will independently provides health care to clients with mental and emotional needs and disorders in Primary Care and Behavioral Health settings. Provide services for a wide range of psychiatric, co-occurring and/or intellectual/developmental disorders, including initial evaluation and diagnosis, participation in and development of treatment plans, management of psychotropic medications, referral to services as necessary, patient education, counseling and ongoing follow-up. This position works closely with a wide variety of professionals in diverse settings.
$148,194.00 - $199,162.00 annually*

Within the specialty of the Nurse Practitioner (NP), they are responsible for managing health problems encountered by the client and is accountable for health outcomes. The NP will follow the six standards of practice:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
EXPERIENCE

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
Current Nurse Practitioner Certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in the State of Oregon at the time of appointment. Possession of a National Certificate for Medicare, or the ability to obtain one by the end of trial service (6 full months from date of hire).
Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire.
Possession of an unencumbered license as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse in the State of Oregon at time of appointment.
Desirable Qualifications: Two years or more of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner is preferred.
Knowledge of/Ability to:
- Behavioral health, psychopharmacology, advanced practice nursing principles, methods and procedures, and medical terminology. Considerable knowledge of psychiatry, psychotherapy and overall management of a wide range of acute and chronic psychiatric disorders.
- The functions and resources of public and private agencies engaged in behavioral health.
- Nurse Practitioner rules and regulations set forth by the Oregon State Board of Nursing OAR 851 Division 50.
- Exercise considerable judgment in the application of professional skills in psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management and treatment.
- Analyze psychiatric problems and recommend treatment plans.
- Train clients and general public in the use of various preventive care and mental health maintenance.
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
