Group Medical Manager

Role Purpose

The Group Medical Manager (GMM) is primarily office-based (with field presence up to 20%) and is responsible for managing the therapeutic area portfolio, leading medical teams, and overseeing asset life cycle from pre-registration to post-launch. The role ensures all medical activities are fair, balanced, non-promotional, scientific and evidence-based, in line with GSK standards and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

• Lead and drive performance of Medical Managers by developing and implementing medical plans and setting objectives and priorities that support Medical Affairs Plans (MAPs) and agreed metrics.
• Ensure deep understanding of assigned therapeutic areas and the scientific value of associated brands and support clinical development plans in collaboration with relevant R&D functions.
• Build effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring Medical Managers remain on track with plans, budgets, development plans and training needs.
• Lead and drive performance of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) teams, setting objectives and priorities to deliver MAPs and metrics.
• Coach and develop MSL capabilities to ensure excellence in day-to-day scientific engagements and ensure proper understanding of business and reporting requirements (e.g. medical systems and tools).
• Ensure MSLs remain on track with plans, budgets, development plans and training needs.

Medical Strategy and Engagement

• Understand global and local clinical practice dynamics in assigned therapeutic areas, including competitive landscapes.
• Consolidate and verify medical insights to inform Medical Affairs strategies and plans.
• Monitor development and execution of MAPs across assigned therapeutic areas.
• Act as a focal point of contact for assigned therapeutic areas, providing scientific guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Lead development of therapeutic area strategies, processes and capabilities that optimize scientific engagement with external experts.
• Support patient-focused engagement initiatives in partnership with the relevant functions.
• Ensure timely recruitment, onboarding, retention and development of team members.

Evidence Generation and R&D Collaboration

• Identify local evidence gaps and propose evidence generation initiatives, considering budget requirements.
• Work collaboratively with relevant functions to drive local publications.
• Identify opportunities to bring R&D projects to the local operating company (LOC), in line with GSK processes and governance.

Medical Governance and Compliance

• Ensure team compliance with GSK standards, policies, local codes of practice, regulations and laws.
• Act as a focal point for management monitoring, internal audits and inspections for assigned therapeutic areas, including timely execution of agreed corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Oversee and follow up on team commitments and timely completion of Medical Governance tasks and CAPAs.
• Contribute to identifying risks and mitigation plans related to assigned therapeutic areas or the medical department.

Pharmacovigilance

• Ensure fulfilment of pharmacovigilance training requirements for self and team.
• Ensure pharmacovigilance requirements are reflected across internal and external scientific engagements.
• Support pharmacovigilance audits and inspections within respective therapeutic areas.

Role Complexity

• Operate within a complex healthcare ecosystem and evolving decision-making environment involving regulators, formularies and reimbursement bodies.
• Work across multiple therapeutic areas and build strong partnerships with business, access and regulatory stakeholders.
• Manage deliverables and performance while upholding GSK standards for Medical Governance and compliance, requiring strong clarity, prioritization and knowledge of ways of working.

Basic Qualifications

• Saudi National.
• Locally licensed healthcare professional with a Medical or Pharmacy degree.
• A valid SCFHS license as a certified pharmacist in Saudi Arabia.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Medical Manager or in a similar medical affairs leadership role.
• Fluent professional English; Arabic language fluency preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey clear, concise scientific messages.
• Demonstrated project management skills to drive delivery across multiple projects and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Postgraduate studies in relevant therapeutic areas and/or a business degree.
• People management experience and demonstrated leadership capability.

القيادة وإدارة الفريق

• قيادة ودفع أداء مديري الشؤون الطبية من خلال تطوير وتنفيذ الخطط الطبية ووضع الأهداف والأولويات التي تدعم خطط الشؤون الطبية (Medical Affairs Plans – MAPs) والمؤشرات المتفق عليها.

• قيادة ودفع أداء فرق أخصائيي التواصل العلمي (Medical Science Liaison – MSL) من خلال وضع الأهداف والأولويات بما يحقق خطط الشؤون الطبية والمؤشرات.
• تدريب وتطوير قدرات فريق الـ MSL لضمان التميز في التفاعلات العلمية اليومية وضمان الفهم الصحيح لمتطلبات العمل ومتطلبات التقارير (مثل الأنظمة والأدوات الطبية).
• ضمان بقاء فريق الـ MSL على المسار الصحيح فيما يتعلق بالخطط والميزانيات وخطط التطوير واحتياجات التدريب.

الاستراتيجية الطبية والتواصل العلمي

• فهم ديناميكيات الممارسات السريرية العالمية والمحلية ضمن المجالات العلاجية المسندة، بما في ذلك المشهد التنافسي.
• تجميع والتحقق من الرؤى الطبية لاستخدامها في وضع استراتيجيات وخطط الشؤون الطبية.
• متابعة تطوير وتنفيذ خطط الشؤون الطبية (MAPs) عبر المجالات العلاجية المسندة.
• العمل كنقطة اتصال رئيسية للمجالات العلاجية المسندة، وتقديم الإرشاد العلمي للجهات الداخلية.
• قيادة تطوير الاستراتيجيات والعمليات والقدرات الخاصة بالمجالات العلاجية بما يعزّز التفاعل العلمي مع الخبراء الخارجيين.
• دعم المبادرات الموجّهة للمرضى بالتعاون مع الوظائف ذات الصلة.
• ضمان التوظيف والاستقبال (Onboarding) والاحتفاظ وتطوير أعضاء الفريق في الوقت المناسب.

توليد الأدلة والتعاون مع البحث والتطوير

• تحديد الفجوات المحلية في الأدلة واقتراح مبادرات لتوليد الأدلة مع مراعاة متطلبات الميزانية.
• العمل بشكل تعاوني مع الوظائف المعنية لدعم النشر العلمي المحلي.
• تحديد الفرص لجلب مشاريع البحث والتطوير إلى شركة التشغيل المحلية (Local Operating Company – LOC)، بما يتوافق مع عمليات GSK وإطار الحوكمة المعتمد.

الحوكمة الطبية والامتثال

• ضمان التزام الفريق بمعايير وسياسات GSK والأكواد المحلية للممارسة والأنظمة والقوانين.
• العمل كنقطة اتصال رئيسية للمتابعة الإدارية، والمراجعات الداخلية، والتفتيشات المتعلقة بالمجالات العلاجية المسندة، بما في ذلك التنفيذ في الوقت المناسب للإجراءات التصحيحية والوقائية المتفق عليها (Corrective and Preventive Actions – CAPAs).
• الإشراف والمتابعة على التزامات الفريق وضمان إتمام مهام الحوكمة الطبية وCAPAs في الوقت المحدد.
• المساهمة في تحديد المخاطر ووضع خطط التخفيف المرتبطة بالمجالات العلاجية المسندة أو قسم الشؤون الطبية.

اليقظة الدوائية (Pharmacovigilance)

• ضمان استيفاء متطلبات التدريب في اليقظة الدوائية للمدير والفريق.
• ضمان تضمين متطلبات اليقظة الدوائية عبر التفاعلات العلمية الداخلية والخارجية.
• دعم مراجعات وتفتيشات اليقظة الدوائية ضمن المجالات العلاجية ذات الصلة.

تعقيد الدور

• العمل ضمن منظومة رعاية صحية معقدة وبيئة اتخاذ قرار متطورة تشمل الهيئات التنظيمية واللجان الدوائية وهيئات التعويض.
• العمل عبر مجالات علاجية متعددة وبناء شراكات قوية مع فرق الأعمال، والوصول (Access)، والجهات التنظيمية.
• إدارة المخرجات والأداء مع الالتزام بمعايير GSK الخاصة بالحوكمة الطبية والامتثال، مما يتطلب وضوحًا قويًا في الأولويات ومعرفة راسخة بأساليب العمل.

المؤهلات الأساسية

• الجنسية السعودية.
• أخصائي رعاية صحية مرخّص محليًا يحمل شهادة في الطب أو الصيدلة.
• ترخيص ساري المفعول من الهيئة السعودية للتخصصات الصحية كصيدلي معتمد في المملكة العربية السعودية.
• خبرة لا تقل عن سنتين كمدير شؤون طبية أو في دور قيادي مشابه ضمن الشؤون الطبية.
• إجادة اللغة الإنجليزية بمستوى مهني؛ يُفضّل إجادة اللغة العربية.
• مهارات قوية في التواصل مع القدرة على إيصال رسائل علمية واضحة ومختصرة.
• إثبات مهارات إدارة المشاريع لدفع التنفيذ عبر عدة مشاريع ومبادرات.

المؤهلات المفضلة

• دراسات عليا في مجالات علاجية ذات صلة و/أو شهادة في إدارة الأعمال.
• خبرة في إدارة الأفراد وإثبات قدرة قيادية.
