AI Tooling Administrator

What we do at Weir
We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet's future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.
Make your impact
As an AI Tooling Administrator, you will play a critical role in enabling and scaling Weir's enterprise AI capabilities. You will be responsible for the administration, governance, security, adoption, and optimisation of AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Azure AI Foundry, and future enterprise AI services.
Working at the intersection of AI Governance, Cyber Security, FinOps, Enterprise Architecture, and Business teams, you will help ensure that AI delivers measurable business value while remaining secure, compliant, and cost-effective. This role is central to Weir's transition from isolated AI experimentation to a governed enterprise AI operating model.
What You'll Do
Tenant & Platform Administration: Configure and administer enterprise AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, Azure AI Foundry, and future enterprise AI solutions at the tenant and organizational level. Define baseline configurations, establish separation between pilot, testing, and production environments, and maintain platform settings aligned with enterprise standards and architecture.
Identity, Access & User Lifecycle Management: Integrate AI platforms with enterprise identity providers such as Entra ID, support machine identity implementation, manage role-based access controls (RBAC), and govern joiners, movers, leavers, and periodic access reviews. Enforce segregation of duties and alignment with enterprise security policies.
Licensing, Token Governance & Cost Optimization: Manage AI platform licensing, entitlements, token consumption, and budget controls across the organization. Optimize license allocation, monitor utilization, reduce waste, prevent duplicate tooling investments, and minimize unmanaged or shadow AI adoption. Partner with FinOps teams to provide transparency of AI spend and maximize value from investment.
Security & Data Protection: Partner with SecOps and Cyber Security teams to establish and enforce controls for handling personal data, commercially sensitive information, intellectual property, customer information, supplier information, and source code. Configure retention policies, workspace permissions, integration restrictions, and security controls to mitigate risks such as prompt injection and data leakage.
Compliance, Audit & Responsible AI: Enable audit logging, monitoring, and traceability across enterprise AI platforms. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, security, privacy, and internal governance requirements. Support AI Governance teams in establishing and maintaining responsible AI standards, policies, and operating procedures.
Integration Governance & Agentic AI Enablement: Govern integrations, plugins, connectors, and enterprise AI extensions across platforms including SAP, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other enterprise systems. Promote API-led integration patterns and support Agentic AI programmes and cross-system AI initiatives. Maintain an approved catalogue of integrations and usage patterns.
Adoption, Enablement & Value Realization: Drive AI onboarding, training, education, and adoption across business functions. Develop guidance, playbooks, best practices, and reusable use-case patterns. Monitor adoption, business value, platform performance, and user satisfaction. Identify optimization opportunities and support AI service intake, approval processes, and enterprise AI operating models.
Stakeholder, Governance & Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with AI Governance, Cyber Security (SecOps), FinOps, Enterprise Architecture, Data, Legal, Procurement, and IT teams to ensure AI platforms are operated in accordance with enterprise policies and standards. Manage stakeholder expectations, balance business demand with risk, governance, security, and budget considerations, and facilitate decision-making across multiple stakeholder groups.
Partner with vendors including Microsoft, Anthropic, GitHub, Google, and other AI providers regarding product roadmaps, licensing, platform capabilities, and support models. Support alignment with Weir's enterprise AI strategy and operating model.
Strategic AI Governance: Support Group, Enterprise, Architecture, Governance, and Tooling teams in shaping and executing Weir's multi-year AI adoption strategy. Contribute to enterprise AI operating models, governance frameworks, tooling roadmaps, and strategic investment decisions while considering ongoing business transformation programmes and future technology direction.
Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero-harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
