Pulse is recruiting for a Registered Psychologist to join an established multidisciplinary therapeutic service supporting children, young people and vulnerable adults across the Greater Manchester and North West region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, Forensic Psychologist looking to work within a supportive and progressive organisation committed to delivering high-quality care and positive outcomes. You will support individuals presenting with a range of complex needs, including trauma, attachment difficulties, harmful sexual behaviour (HSB), autism spectrum conditions (ASC/ASD), mental health difficulties and forensic presentations.

Responsibilities

As a Psychologist, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based psychological support and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people with complex needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking psychological and clinical assessments.
  • Developing and delivering tailored intervention and treatment plans.
  • Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Completing behavioural and risk assessments and contributing to risk management planning.
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Supporting psychologically informed practice across services.
  • Delivering consultation, guidance and training to care and education professionals.
  • Building effective relationships with families, local authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Attending and contributing to professional meetings and reviews.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of therapeutic approaches and best practice across services.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Experience working with one or more of the following:
    • Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB)
    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
    • Attachment difficulties and developmental trauma
    • Mental health difficulties
    • Forensic or complex presentations

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within residential care, education or specialist therapeutic services.
  • Knowledge or experience of approaches such as CBT, DBT, DDP, Systemic Psychotherapy, EMDR or Person-Centred Therapy.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
