Job Description
We are looking for a strong, practical manager to lead the EUS technical team responsible for Citrix, desktop, virtual compute, and Nutanix-aligned services. This role is not intended to be a hands-on engineering role. The successful candidate will be accountable for guiding technical resources, driving execution, improving operational discipline, and ensuring reliable delivery of services in a global enterprise environment.
The manager must be comfortable leading skilled engineers, translating business priorities into actionable work, setting clear expectations, and holding the team accountable for outcomes. The role requires enough technical depth to understand the platforms, ask the right questions, validate direction, and make effective decisions, while depending on subject-matter experts for detailed engineering execution.
Success in this role means the team is organized, priorities are clear, work is moving, risks are surfaced early, service reliability improves, and engineers are coached to deliver without the manager becoming the default engineer for every issue.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage, coach, and develop a team of technical resources supporting EUS platforms. Establish clear ownership, priorities, delivery expectations, and accountability.
- Execution Management: Drive projects, operational initiatives, remediation efforts, and service improvement work from planning through completion. Ensure actions are tracked, blockers are removed, and outcomes are delivered.
- Technical Direction: Provide practical technical leadership across Citrix, desktop engineering, VDI, Windows endpoint services, Nutanix-aligned infrastructure, and related EUS platforms without needing to personally engineer every solution.
- Operational Discipline: Improve incident follow-up, problem management, change readiness, documentation quality, monitoring, capacity awareness, and handoff between engineering and operations.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate clearly with senior leaders, peer technology teams, service owners, vendors, and business stakeholders. Summarize risks, tradeoffs, and decisions in a direct and actionable way.
- Prioritization and Planning: Balance project delivery, operational stability, lifecycle management, security requirements, audit needs, and support escalations.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with Infrastructure, Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, Networking, Security, Service Desk, Application teams, and Release/Change Management to coordinate work and resolve dependencies.
- Vendor and Service Management: Engage external vendors and partners as needed to drive support cases, roadmap discussions, platform improvements, licensing discussions, and service accountability.
- Risk and Control Management: Ensure changes are properly planned, reviewed, documented, tested, and communicated. Maintain alignment with enterprise governance, security, compliance, and change management requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring issues, process gaps, automation opportunities, and service improvement areas. Drive measurable improvements rather than accepting repeat firefighting.
Technical Scope
The manager should have enough technical fluency to lead the team effectively, challenge assumptions, and make informed decisions. Deep hands-on engineering expertise in every area is not required.
- Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, StoreFront, Delivery Controllers, PVS/MCS concepts, Director, and related administration models.
- NetScaler/ADC concepts, remote access, load balancing, authentication flows, certificates, and high availability patterns.
- Windows desktop and virtual desktop engineering, image management, application delivery, Group Policy, profile management, patching, and performance troubleshooting.
- Nutanix HCI concepts, platform availability, capacity awareness, escalation management, and dependencies between compute, storage, networking, and virtual desktop
Salary Range: $ 150,000.00 - $ 225,000.00
