Job Summary

The Payroll Tax Specialist ensures timely and accurate weekly tax payments for federal, state and local agencies. Prepare and file tax returns 941 quarterlies and year end 940’s. Reconcile tax payments and partner with management on other payroll tax matters.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Process weekly tax deposits
• Filing of weekly, monthly and quarterly tax returns
• Partner with payroll to prepare with yearend
• Versatile and Skillful in multiple payroll software’s
• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadline pressure
• Assist and partner with tax team on special projects or pressing matters

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED

3+ years in a similar payroll tax role within a high volume, fast paced environment

Technical Qualifications & Skills Proficient in ExcelExperience with email in a business to business setting (Outlook preferred)Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel and Internet navigation

Stong data entry and typing skills

Excellent attention to detail with a focus on efficiency and accuracy

Superior organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in order to meet objectives and standards

Strong oral and written communication skills

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

 

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
