Construction Manager - Data Center

We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join a Project Management Consultancy team supporting the delivery of a large-scale data center project in Luxembourg.

The Construction Manager will play a key role in overseeing the onsite delivery of the project, from the pre-construction and design review phases through construction, commissioning readiness and final handover.

You will act as a senior onsite representative, coordinating multiple EPC contractors and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that civil, structural, architectural and MEP works are delivered safely, on schedule and in line with the required quality standards.

Previous experience in large-scale data center, pharmaceutical or other complex industrial construction environments is strongly preferred.

Key responsibilities Design & Pre-construction

• Review IFC drawings and technical specifications, identifying potential constructability issues, risks and required design clarifications.
• Work closely with design and engineering teams to support the preparation of Inquiry Packages for different EPC lots.
• Coordinate with technical teams to resolve technical issues and manage design changes during construction.
• Provide input on construction methodologies, temporary works and site logistics to optimise project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Luxembourg regulations, permits and project requirements.

Construction Management & Coordination

• Lead and coordinate onsite construction activities across civil, structural, architectural and MEP disciplines.
• Manage interfaces between multiple EPC contractors, subcontractors and specialist packages.
• Lead or participate in regular multidisciplinary coordination and interface meetings.
• Support BIM coordination and the resolution of clashes that could impact construction sequencing.
• Ensure appropriate coordination with commissioning activities, utilities and other project interfaces.

Site Execution

• Oversee daily onsite activities and ensure that resources, materials and equipment are effectively coordinated.
• Review and approve contractor method statements, risk assessments and relevant construction plans.
• Monitor quality through inspections, testing, hold points and non-conformance management.
• Conduct regular site walkthroughs, progress reviews and safety inspections.
• Ensure that construction changes and as-built conditions are properly documented.

Planning & Project Delivery

• Work closely with the Lead Scheduler to maintain and monitor the detailed construction programme and its integration into the overall master schedule.
• Monitor progress against key construction and commissioning milestones.
• Identify potential delays and construction risks and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
• Support site logistics planning and ensure critical activities can progress efficiently.
• Lead construction handover activities through Facility Ready, commissioning readiness and operational turnover.

Stakeholder Management

• Act as a key onsite interface between the PMC team, contractors and client representatives.
• Provide clear visibility on construction progress, risks and key challenges.
• Coordinate site inspections, walkthroughs and construction progress meetings.
• Liaise where required with local authorities, utility providers and other external stakeholders.
• Ensure construction activities are aligned with contractual and project delivery requirements.

Quality, HSE & Risk Management

• Ensure implementation of project QA/QC procedures and quality plans.
• Identify construction risks and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with project HSE requirements.
• Monitor environmental and site-control requirements.
• Ensure temporary works and construction activities are carried out according to demanding safety and quality standards.

Team Leadership

• Lead the onsite PMC construction team, including site engineers, supervisors, HSE professionals and quality inspectors.
• Promote effective collaboration between construction, commissioning, commercial, engineering and document control teams.
• Support issue resolution and maintain a proactive, delivery-focused site environment.
• Oversee construction closeout, including punch-list management, documentation and final acceptance.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in large-scale industrial, mission-critical or hyperscale data center construction projects.
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior Construction Management position, ideally within a turnkey/EPC contractor environment.
• Strong experience coordinating multiple EPC contractors and multidisciplinary construction packages.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex site logistics and fast-track construction programmes.
• Experience in data centers, pharmaceutical facilities or similarly complex industrial environments is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Luxembourg construction regulations, permitting processes and environmental requirements is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6, BIM coordination and project management tools.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong understanding of HSE, QA/QC and construction risk management.
• Fluent English is required. French is an advantage.
