Overview

A busy professional family in Brooklyn is seeking an experienced, reliable live-in nanny to start at the beginning of December. The main role is caring for their school age daughter, including early mornings and the daily school commute to the Upper East Side, where she attends school. The family is planning a move to the Upper East Side.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 6:30am to 7:30pm. The day starts when their daughter wakes up and ends at her bedtime. The nanny is welcome to take an hour off midday for personal time or errands. School drop off, afternoon pick up, dinner, and bedtime are firm and cannot be flexed.

The family is looking for someone dependable and self-sufficient who understands the pace of a home where both parents work and travel.

  • Take her to school on the Upper East Side and return home
  • Take her to after school activities on the Upper East Side
  • Prepare large batch meals, such as soups and other easy to scale dishes, for the children and the family between school commutes
  • Take initiative and manage the daughter's needs
  • Communicate openly with the parents about her routines and day

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional nanny experience
  • Experience working in dual income households with busy or traveling parents
  • A strong work ethic, with a record of reliability, accountability, and punctuality
  • Self-sufficient and comfortable working independently without day to day guidance
  • Spanish speaking is a plus

  • Ability to start in early December
  • Live-in flexibility
  • Willingness to travel with the family on one to two trips per year.
  • Strong work references

Salary and Benefits

  • Approximately $120,000 gross per year, paid fully on the books

  • PTO and Sick Days
  • Additional Benefits to be discussed
