Business Development Representative (Bell)

We are seeking a motivated, competitive, and professional Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing corporate sales team. This is a full-time, in-office position designed to maximize collaboration, coaching, and performance. The BDR will focus on outbound prospecting and appointment setting for our Account Executives. The role is critical to identifying potential business clients, starting meaningful conversations, and qualifying opportunities that drive Excell’s growth in the business telecom sector. It is

Key Responsibilities

• Make a highvolume of outbound cold calls to small and mid-sized businesses across Ontario,introducing Excell’s business wireless, internet, and phone solutions.
• Research and identify potential clients by building targeted prospect lists, including industry-focused campaigns.
• Navigate gatekeepers professionally to reach owners, office managers, and other decision makers.
• Qualify leads by understanding business size, current provider and services, contract timing, and decision-making structure.
• Scrub and maintain call lists to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with internal and do-not-call standards.
• Book qualified meetings for Account Executives and ensure a seamless hand-off with complete notes.
• Follow up with prospects by phone and email to keep opportunities moving.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach, conversations, and outcomes in our CRM (Zoho).
• Meet weekly activity and meeting targets.
• Stay current with industry trends, Bell offerings, and competitor activity to position Excell’s value effectively.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative sales culture and take part in ongoing sales training and development.

Successful Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in business development, inside sales, outbound calling, or a customer-facing sales role is an asset.
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills; able to build rapport quickly and professionally.
• Fluent in English with excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Resilient, persistent, and comfortable handling rejection while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Competitive and self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed activity and meeting targets.
• Coachable and eager to learn, take feedback, and improve quickly.

The core objectives of the role are to identify potential business clients, initiate meaningful conversations, and qualify opportunities that will drive our growth in the telecom sector.

This role offers a base hourly wage complemented by performance-based commission and

other incentives, with an opportunity to earn ranging from $18-$22 per hour or more when combining base and supplemental pay.
