Contracts Manager

Salary: £45k - £50k DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday

Location: Chesterfield (field based, nationwide travel)

Contract: Permanent

Our client is a specialist fit-out business delivering installation projects across a wide range of sectors. A run of significant contract wins has created real momentum, and with operations being restructured to bring interior and racking work together under one team, they are looking to add Contracts Managers to join them at an exciting point in their growth.

This is a field-based role for someone who loves running jobs properly. You will own projects from handover to completion, working closely with clients and site teams across a mix of small works, maintenance and large-scale installations. Backed by an experienced operations team and a supportive installations function, it is an ideal move for a driven Contracts Manager looking for growth and progression in a busy, fast-moving environment.

• Take ownership of projects from post-tender handover through to completion, reviewing scope, specifications, margins and assumptions
• Run a varied portfolio of fit-out, racking, mezzanine and interior projects, from small works and maintenance through to large-scale installations
• Manage contract terms, variations and obligations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
• Develop and manage project programmes to hit key deadlines and handover dates
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, deliveries and labour, including oversight of installations
• Monitor costs against budgets to protect margins, managing valuations, payment applications and final accounts
• Carry out regular site visits to monitor progress, workmanship and quality, ensuring snagging is identified and resolved
• Ensure compliance with health and safety.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, attending meetings and resolving issues before they escalate
• Work as part of the wider operations team, sharing workloads and providing cover when colleagues are away on projects or on leave

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager (or similar) within the fit-out industry or construction-based employment
• Multi-sector project experience, with the ability to manage projects of varying size and complexity
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy work diary and multiple contracts at once
• Professional, customer-focused communicator who builds strong client relationships
• Reliable, committed and hardworking, staying calm and reactive under pressure
• A genuine team player
• Flexible and willing to travel nationwide, including overnight stays away
• Must be able to drive

 

Desirable:

• Experience of racking and mezzanine flooring systems (full product knowledge support will be provided, so an attitude to learn is what matters most)
