Description
IT Support Specialist
Do you enjoy solving technology problems, helping people, and working in a hands-on environment?
We're looking for an IT Support Specialist to provide frontline technical support to employees across four municipal organizations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, wants to make a direct impact, and doesn't want to sit behind a desk all day.
Important: This is a fully on-site position. You'll regularly travel between four city locations to support employees, troubleshoot issues, deploy equipment, and help keep essential public services running smoothly. Remote work is not available.
What You'll Do
- Respond to help desk tickets and technical support requests
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and mobile device issues
- Deploy and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and other technology
- Support Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and related systems
- Assist with video conferencing, VoIP phones, and access control systems
- Work directly with employees to deliver outstanding customer service
- Help maintain secure, reliable technology environments
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of desktop support, help desk, or IT support experience
- Experience supporting Windows environments
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, connectivity troubleshooting, etc.)
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between city locations
Preferred:
- A+, Network+, MCP, or similar certifications
- Experience with Active Directory, PowerShell, VMware, or Microsoft 365 administration
