Overview

A warm, busy, and loving family of four on the Upper East Side is seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented Housekeeper/Cook to join their household team.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM. The family has two young children and two nannies, and is looking for someone who takes pride in creating and maintaining a beautiful, organized, and welcoming home.

Cooking is an important part of the role, but the family is not seeking a professional chef. They are looking for someone who enjoys cooking, is comfortable preparing everyday meals, and brings a positive attitude and willingness to help.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the day-to-day cleanliness and organization of the home 
  • Handle the laundry and bedding

  • Maintaining daily tidying and general cleanup 

  • Daily housekeeping, tidying, and keeping spaces in meticulous order.

  • Laundry, ironing, and general household upkeep.

  • Preparing simple, delicious, family-friendly meals.

  • Helping ensure the household runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Assist with household organization projects as needed
  • Perform deep cleaning of easily accessible areas as needed, including baseboards, behind furniture, and inside cabinets

Qualifications

  • Type A personality and invested in the well-being of the family 

  • Experienced working in a private household.

  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.

  • Warm, kind, dependable, and trustworthy.

  • Comfortable working in a home with young children and nannies.

  • A team player with a wonderful attitude who takes pride in their work.

Requirements

  • Ability to keep a home running smoothly, take initiative, and genuinely love creating a clean, comfortable, and inviting environment.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for the role and a high level of personal investment.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent household standards.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a private Housekeeper
  • Three strong, verifiable professional references
  • Non-smoker

Salary and Benefits

  • Compensation: $50-55/hour DOE
  • Guaranteed Hours: 45 hours per week
  • Overtime pay for hours over 40 in one week
  • Health stipend
