The Position

As a Payroll Project Specialist within our People Support Solutions (PSS) team, you will execute HR system data maintenance, project implementation tasks, data validation, and parallel payroll runs.

This role is based in Budapest or Sarajevo and will support Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Georgia, securing a seamless transition into the new payroll operating model while supporting People & Culture (P&C) business processes across payroll, tax, social insurance, time, and global and local benefits. This assignment offers a prime opportunity to build high-impact enterprise project experience with top-tier HR systems across a diverse international scope.

Please note that this is a fixed term position for a planned duration of 18 months.

The Opportunity:

  • Actively drive assigned payroll project milestones, leading operational payroll cutover, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Parallel Payroll Runs (PPR), and operational hypercare across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Georgia.
  • Execute accurate data administration across payroll, tax, social insurance, time, and benefits, managing mass upload files (including legacy-to-target mapping) while monitoring Workday-to-vendor data flows and resolving integration defect logs.
  • Provide expert customer advisory and inquiry resolution on pay, time, and benefits during project implementation and hypercare, partnering with managers to confirm employee time and absence data.
  • Ensure strict regulatory compliance with country-specific laws and customer regulations, while driving continuous improvement and capturing process knowledge into Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and Knowledge Articles (KAs).
  • Provide guidance to first-level P&C support teams and collaborate with regional and global PSS peers and P&C Chapters to ensure consistent, end-to-end service delivery aligned with defined KPIs.

Who You Are:

  • You are a customer-centric HR operations professional with strong analytical skills who thrives in an ambiguous, multicultural, and matrixed environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll services and benefits administration (shared service center preferred), with exposure to payroll implementations, testing, or migrations.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll cycles, tax, social insurance, and time processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and strong data reconciliation capabilities.
  • Proven track record of managing project deadlines and competing priorities independently.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

In exchange we provide you with (Roche Services and Solutions, Budapest):
