1st Shift: Monday–Saturday, 5:30 AM–4:00 PM
2nd Shift: Monday–Saturday, 4:30 PM–3:00 AM

Job Impulse is hiring CNC Operators in Lapeer, MI for an automotive manufacturing facility.

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for someone with CNC experience who enjoys hands-on machining, working with precision tools, and producing quality parts. You’ll operate CNC equipment, make basic machine adjustments, inspect finished parts, and help keep production running safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

• Operate CNC mills, lathes, routers, or other CNC equipment

• Load materials and prepare machines for production

• Monitor production cycles and machine performance

• Set up tooling, fixtures, and work holding devices

• Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic machine adjustments

• Read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions

• Make basic CNC program adjustments when needed

• Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools

• Verify parts meet required specifications and tolerances

• Record production and inspection information

• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance

• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report larger concerns

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

What We’re Looking For

• Previous CNC machine operation experience

• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

• Basic understanding of CNC machining, tooling, and G-code

• Experience using precision measuring tools

• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail

• Ability to identify quality or machine issues during production

• Comfortable working independently and as part of a production team

• Dependable attendance and willingness to work the full assigned schedule

• High school diploma or equivalent

Additional Experience That Can Help

• Technical or vocational machining training

• Experience with CNC programming

• Familiarity with Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAD/CAM software

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or 5S practices

What to Expect

This is an active manufacturing role where you’ll spend much of the shift standing and working around CNC equipment.

Candidates should be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed, working with their hands, and following established safety and PPE requirements.

Both shifts work Monday through Saturday, so candidates must be able to work the full six-day schedule.
