BIM Modeler / Coordinator – Precast

The BIM Modeler / Coordinator will be responsible for developing and coordinating BIM models for precast concrete projects, ensuring accurate representation of precast elements and effective multidisciplinary coordination. The role requires strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, familiarity with Navisworks and Autodesk FORMA (ACC), and a good understanding of ISO 19650 principles and BIM workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 3D BIM models for precast concrete elements using Autodesk Revit, including walls, columns, beams, slabs, stairs, façade panels, and other precast components.
• Create, modify, and manage Revit families required for precast components and project-specific elements.
• Develop BIM models based on structural drawings, design information, architectural requirements, and approved project documents.
• Coordinate precast models with structural, architectural, MEP, façade, and other disciplines.
• Use Autodesk Navisworks for model federation, coordination reviews, and clash detection.
• Identify, document, track, and assist in resolving clashes between precast elements and other disciplines.
• Familiar with Autodesk FORMA (ACC) and able to work within Design Collaboration workflows for model sharing, coordination, review, and issue management.
• Upload, share, review, and coordinate BIM models and related information through the project's Common Data Environment (CDE).
• Understand and apply applicable ISO 19650 principles for BIM information management, naming conventions, model status, information exchange, and document/model control.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and communicate technical issues clearly with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure BIM models comply with the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP), Employer's/Exchange Information Requirements, LOD/LOI requirements, and agreed modeling standards where applicable.
• Maintain model accuracy, consistency, and quality throughout the design and coordination process.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit, particularly structural/precast modeling.
• Ability to model detailed precast concrete elements and develop project-specific Revit families.
• Good working knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks Manage.
• Good understanding of clash detection and multidisciplinary BIM coordination.
• Familiarity with Autodesk FORMA (ACC), particularly Design Collaboration and Model Coordination.
• Good understanding of ISO 19650 and BIM information management principles.
• Understanding of BIM concepts including CDE, BEP, LOD/LOI, model federation, model coordination, and information exchange.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of precast concrete systems, connections, tolerances, constructability, fabrication, and erection requirements will be an advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience as a BIM Modeler / BIM Coordinator, preferably within the precast concrete industry.
• Practical experience using Revit and Navisworks on multidisciplinary construction projects.
• Previous experience working with ACC/BIM 360 environments is preferred.
• Knowledge or training related to ISO 19650 is preferred.
