Job Description Summary

The Principal AI Engineer will help shape and lead the development of reusable, production-grade AI components as part of the AI Delivery Hub.
You’ll work hands-on across architecture, prototyping, coding, evaluation, and production engineering, ensuring that AI-powered services are secure, reliable, and efficient.
As a Senior AI Specialist within AI Delivery Hub pods, you’ll collaborate with engineers and teams to design orchestration, memory, and evaluation frameworks that accelerate AI adoption across Amadeus.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll combine deep technical knowledge with practical engineering experience. You’ll focus on building foundational AI components that ensure quality, resilience, and scalability in AI-delivered solutions.
Your collaboration will influence both product design and platform reliability—advancing the company’s vision for enterprise-ready AI.

In this role, you’ll:

• Guide the design and implementation of reusable AI components and services.
• Develop orchestration workflows involving multiple models, tooling integrations, and memory management.
• Review and validate AI agent outputs across design, testing, and production phases.
• Collaborate with teams to refine assumptions and optimize technical solutions.
• Define AI engineering practices that strengthen evaluation and quality processes.
• Promote cost efficiency through token monitoring, caching, and operational optimization.
• Contribute to the reliability, security, and observability of AI solutions.
• Support team learning in AI design, prompting, evaluation, and verification.

Your Profile

• Considerable experience in AI engineering, software architecture, or distributed systems.
• Practical knowledge or hands-on experience with Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and AI agent frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python or similar modern engineering languages.
• Experience designing and implementing reusable AI services or platforms.
• Understanding of multi-model orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and model evaluation.
• Familiarity with containerization, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native design.
• Sound technical judgment and an ability to make balanced, risk-informed decisions.
• Interest in mentoring and supporting collaborative learning in technical teams.

Technical Environment

• Languages: Python, Java
• Frameworks: LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen (or similar)
• Models: Commercial and open-source foundation models
• Data stores: Vector, relational, document, and in-memory databases
• Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code
• Monitoring: Evaluation, tracing, observability, and AI performance tools

Nice to Have

• Experience with multimodal or multi-agent AI systems.
• Awareness of model serving, inference optimization, or GPU infrastructure.
• Familiarity with AI security, guardrails, and responsible AI principles.
• Knowledge of memory management, privacy, and context retention.
• Exposure to technical knowledge engineering or reusable AI skill libraries.
• Experience building large-scale shared AI platforms.

Success in this Role

You will help AI Delivery Hub teams deliver reusable, secure, and production-ready AI capabilities.
Success means that AI agents operate reliably, design and technical decisions remain coherent, and performance and cost choices are supported with measurable evidence.

AI Delivery Hub Role: Senior AI Specialist
Primary Focus: AI system design, multi-model orchestration, evaluation, FinOps, and production quality
