Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Sociology by the appointment start date. The anticipated start date is August 15, 2027.
We seek a scholar to conduct leading-edge medical sociology research on health and mental health disparities, including, but not limited to, race, class, migration, sexuality, maternal health, trauma, and global health. The ideal candidate will advance scholarship at the intersection of health disparities, artificial intelligence, computational methods, the digital divide, or related topics.
The candidate is expected to pursue externally funded research, teach courses in medical sociology, and contribute to the Global Health major. The University provides a strong interdisciplinary setting for research connecting health inequalities, digital methods, and community needs.
The University is in South Florida’s distinctive social and urban context, which as a major immigration hub with a heterogeneous population, offers exceptional opportunities for research connecting health inequalities, digital methods, and community needs.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research statement, and teaching statement.
